Just realized it’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been working on a few different drawing projects, and even painted a bit in the past month, but nothing is really complete.
There’s so much material that I want to make work from – photos, postcards, journal entries from my life and travels… it’s hard to decide where to start!
But I do have a bit of NEW MATERIAL to share with you:
Until next time!
As promised, I have more NEW MATERIAL for you!
- ART: photos from Arizona and Michigan in my Photography Gallery
- MUSIC: an Audio page (so you can listen to all my songs on one page, one after the other), lyrics and audio for my **new song** Someday
I’m still trying to find the best player to feature my audio, and I would also like to make the songs available for download. Thanks for listening to them here in the meantime.
Other exciting news: I performed in public for the first time since moving to Lansing! A few friends from REACH invited me out to Open Mic Night at Dagwood’s Tavern and Grill this past Tuesday. Since it was so last minute I didn’t have any time or opportunity to spread the word. That said, you can now follow me on Twitter: @AbbeyHoffman. I’ve been avoiding using it, and I’m not gonna lie – Twitter still kind of weirds me out. But I’ve decided it’s the best way for me to spread the word of spontaneous performances (to those of you in the Lansing area), and I will also use it as another means of sharing when I have posted new material.
Thanks for following!
My apologies for the delay in NEW MATERIAL! (How is it already half-way through June??) Here’s what you should check out:
- ART: Daily Drawings – 56 drawings from my 2 months in Puerto Rico
- MUSIC: “play-buttons” next to my audio links (so you don’t have to go to a different page to listen to the song that is playing!)
That’s just something to keep you entertained while I work on posting even more material – a couple of new songs are in the works, old songs need to be recorded, and sharpie work is still happening big-time. 🙂 I won’t let three months go by before my next post, I promise!
So what’s been keeping me busy? I’ve been readjusting to life in Lansing, MI. Moved into a new apartment with my brother, finally got a car here (my first one!), and I just started volunteering in two summer programs with REACH – a “nonprofit neighborhood space for arts education and civic engagement.” Definitely check out their website! Lots of great things happening.
Life remains full of adventure! Can’t wait to share more of it with you.
As my time in Puerto Rico winds down I am beginning to examine the work that I’ve created here. I am beyond thankful for this experience, and I’m sure that this work will only open the door to more projects and ideas in the future.
Until then you can browse through some of my NEW MATERIAL created in PR:
More work soon!
Time for an update:
I have been living in Isabela, Puerto Rico for the past month with long-time friend and fellow artist Melissa Misla. (<<click on her name for a link to her website) For the first time since graduation I have been able to dedicate significant time and energy to my creative work. I am so thankful to have this opportunity and am attempting to make the most of every minute here. That means spending most of my time drawing, writing, and recording in the “studio” and traveling around the island for inspiration (the sunny, warm weather is inspiration in and of itself!). But I am also thrilled to share some of my work with you as it’s happening.
So here is some NEW MATERIAL to look for:
Enjoy! And stay tuned for more – I still have 5 weeks left in PR. : )
I’m excited to finally have some more work up for you!
NEW MATERIAL posted this week:
- ART: photos of old work added to my archives, a new photography gallery, a link to video footage of my Lost/Found exhibition, photos from past exhibitions
- MUSIC: more lyrics to songs, photos from past gigs
Also new this week: I got a favicon! Google it if you don’t know what it is. It really made my day when I successfully added one.
I’ll be adding more photos soon, including a gallery of the coloring pages from my Lost/Found installation.
Thanks for stopping by!
Welcome to AbbeyHoffman.com
I’m still trying to figure things out around my website, so I apologize for the appearance.
I plan to have plenty of material up for you soon, so stay tuned!
